neil garvie

Author and Poet

Neil Garvie came into the world as an explorer — a boy wandering into the bush at every opportunity to discover gooseberry patches, garter snakes and dragon flies. During these early years he learned to cherish time spent in the wild.

Neil chose teaching as a vocation, sharing his fascination for the outdoors with his students.  His academic background includes: B.A.(P.E.), B.Ed., M.Sc., Ph.D.  He has written educational research papers; social and environmental articles; and now readily shares his observations through stories and poems.

Neil is proud father of four daughters and two sons.  He has eighteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  He resides with his wife, Carol, in Comox BC on Vancouver Island.

Neil is a member of the FBCW, the Comox Valley Writers Society, and the Victoria Writers’ Society. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book will go to support the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.

Mother Nature Eats Her Kind

Alive with images of the natural world (both beautiful and brutal),
Neil Garvie reveals the worldly rhythms within which we are intrinsically entwined and connected.
